I wrote about Thomas Mann’s bedroom for a new book

Two years ago I got to spend an amazing few days at Thomas Mann’s former home on San Remo Drive in Pacific Palisades. We didn’t stay in his bedroom (the former garage which was way nicer than that sounds). But now I got to think about Mann’s bedroom and his evening rituals — reading, correspondence, and the temporal division of labor involved in his various political and artistic endeavors. You can buy the book here.
